Authorities confirm body is that of Dawnette Harrell's

WILLIAMSBURG — Authorities positively identified a body found in a shallow grave on private property in Grand Traverse County's Whitewater Township.

An autopsy confirmed the body is that of Dawnette Marie Harrell, state police said in a statement.

The Traverse City woman vanished in April 2006 after a late-night meeting with a co-worker who was the alleged father of her unborn child.

Harrell's cause of death has yet to be determined and further medical examinations are scheduled in the near future, police said.
