Consultant looks at renewable energy

TRAVERSE CITY — Local renewable energy consultant Steve Smiley will discuss "Renewable Energy Policy and Prospects for Northwest Michigan” on March 27 at 7 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church on Washington Street.

Smiley will discuss renewable energy efforts in the region and present an overview of his paper entitled "Follow the yellow brick road: A model for energy and community restoration.” Smiley is a consultant for Traverse City Light and Power and has also advised several European countries on topics including electric and thermal solar energy, wind energy and other renewable energy applications.

The event is sponsored by the Traverse Group of the Sierra Club.
