06/29/2007'Bolts charging toward a sweepWindy City has taken first 3 of 4-game seriesTRAVERSE CITY The Traverse City Beach Bums made it interesting. Down 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Beach Bums rallied for three runs and had the tying run on third with one out, before Windy City reliever Matt Petty induced pinch-hitter Curtis Ledbetter to hit into a double play, securing a 4-3 Frontier League win Thursday night at Wuerfel Park. Windy City, which has won the first three games of the series which concludes tonight, improved to 28-7. Traverse City slipped to 13-22. Windy City starter Billy Phillips (2-2) cruised through the first eight innings before the Beach Bums came to life in the ninth. Brad Vericker led off the ninth with a home run. Ben Ramsey followed with a double, ending Phillips' night. Anthony Rebyanski came on and surrendered a hit to Jeff Vincent, scoring Ramsey to make it a 4-2 game. Vincent went to second when Windy City's right fielder Scott Billak overran the ball. Vincent moved to third on a wild pitch and scored after he was caught in a rundown and third baseman Josh Horn dropped the ball. Zack Kalter doubled to put the tying run on second. Petty entered, but Justin Holmes was able to reach on an error, putting runners at the corners with one out.
