06/14/2007MemorandaEvents The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. June 20 at Arbors of Traverse apartment homes, 2955 Leggett Drive, off Hartman Road in Traverse City. Admission is free to member companies and all their employees. The Benzie County Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. June 21 at Frog Pond Village in Interlochen. Donation is $5. Personnel file Drew Buchholz has joined Interlochen Center for the Arts as director of external relations. In this role Buchholz will serve as a liaison in order to strengthen relationships between the arts academy and local regional, state and national networks of organizations, legislators, professional organizations and governmental agencies. Felicia Randall of Real Estate One Traverse City East and Lou Okma of Real Estate One Suttons Bay were among the 50 Realtors statewide to attend and graduate from the Michigan Association of Realtors Land Use Academy. The MAR Land Use Academy is an intensive, three-day conference covering the basics of land-use issues. Graduates gain the skills to bridge the gap between developers and local governments. Kirk Bergsma has joined Real Estate One as a full-time Realtor in the Traverse City East office in Acme. Bergsma formerly was a certified hotel administrator and past proprietor of the Waterfront Inn and Reflections restaurant. Chad Anderson has been named sales manager for the Kalkaska office of Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors. Anderson has worked as a Realtor since graduating from Western Michigan University in 1999. New business Owner Bill Matthews and son Ken Matthews recently opened TC Family Auto Care at 1061 Stepke Court, off U.S.-31 South in Traverse City. The facility offers one-stop automotive care with a relaxing atmosphere including a kids' room, movie room for parents along with a "quiet waiting area equipped with desk, phone, PC and wireless Internet.
