Roblin drives in 2 runs in Bums' win over Otters

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Traverse City Beach Bums plated two runs in the eighth inning to record a 3-2 comeback win over the Evansville Otters on Thursday night and take two of three from the 2006 Frontier League Champions.

Phil Tognetti pitched a season-high six innings in his fifth start of the season and allowed only the one run on four hits while walking four and striking out one.

The Beach Bums scored first, plating a run in the top of the third against Evansville's Jake Haggerty. Justin Holmes led off the inning with a single. Jeff Brown, starting at catcher for the first time this season, connected on a double to put runners at second and third with no outs. Brad Roblin drove in the game's first run with an RBI groundout.

Evansville tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as Dan Burton connected on his third homer of the season to snap a 14.2-inning scoreless drought against Beach Bums pitching.

Against the bullpen in the bottom of the seventh, Evansville grabbed their first lead on only one hit.

The Beach Bums came back against the Evansville bullpen, scoring twice to force Otters closer Mike Bille into his first blown save of the season. Aaron Garza led off with a single and Holmes was hit by a pitch. Roblin brought in the tying run with a single and the go-ahead run scored on a ground out by Steve Young.

Bryan Rembisz (3-0) recorded his third win of the season with .2 innings of relief while Jared Locke threw the eighth and ninth innings to notch his second save in as many nights, allowing only a walk during that span.
