07/19/2007Bums net walk-off win againRoblin's two-out single wins game; TC takes 2 of 3TRAVERSE CITY Walk-off fever has hit the Traverse City Beach Bums, and the Washington Wild Things are sick about it. Brad Roblin's two-out single scored pinch runner R.C. Dickerson with the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and lifted the Bums to a 2-1 baseball victory over the East Division-leading Wild Things on Wednesday night at Wuerfel Park. It marked the second straight walk-off win for Traverse City, which defeated Washington 7-6 the night before on Brad Vericker's RBI single. The Bums' Curtis Ledbetter doubled twice and both of his hits figured into the scoring. Ledbetter's first two-bagger plated Matt Rademacher in the sixth and tied the game 1-1. Three innings later, Ledbetter led off the ninth with a double before being lifted for pinch runner Dickerson, who scored on Roblin's third hit of the game. Roblin is batting .400 in five games since joining the Beach Bums. Ryan Gehring (4-5) earned the complete-game victory by outdueling Washington's Tom Cochran (6-2). Both pitchers allowed seven hits, struck out six and walked one. The game was completed in only 1 hour, 59 minutes. Traverse City (21-31) took two of three games from Washington (32-19) after dropping two of three to Slippery Rock, which has the worst record in the Frontier League.
