News in brief

Woman allegedly drove drunk with son

TRAVERSE CITY — A Blair Township woman was arrested for drinking and driving after she allegedly rolled her vehicle as she took her son to day care.

Christina Hope Corrigan, 28, allegedly lost control of her vehicle on Silver Lake Road around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle spun across the road, hit a curb, rolled over and slid down an embankment to the water's edge, Grand Traverse County Undersheriff Nathan Alger said.

Corrigan was allegedly driving her 3-year-old son to day care on her way to work and her blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit, Alger said. Both Corrigan and her son were wearing seat belts and neither were injured.

Sheriff's deputies contacted child protective services and arrested Corrigan. Sheriff's officials also submitted a warrant request to the county prosecutor for a charge of child endangerment.
