Bums head home with 11-10 win

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Aaron Garza slugged his 10th home run to establish a single-season franchise record and lead the Traverse City Beach Bums to an 11-10 Frontier League baseball victory over Chillicothe on Sunday night.

Brad Vericker went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI for the Bums (37-45), while Jeff Brown had a three-run double.

TC jumped out to a 7-0 lead but couldn't hold it. Chillicothe scored nine consecutive runs to go up 9-7 before the Bums rallied with two in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Matt Dillard (1-0) picked up the win. Tyler Meigs earned his eighth save.

The Bums head home to open a series against the Florence Freedom tonight.
