Evansville snaps slide vs. Bums

Otters hit two of three home runs

TRAVERSE CITY — The Evansville Otters snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 6-4 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums at Wuerfel Park on Wednesday night.

The win also allowed Evansville (25-40) to salvage a victory in the three-game series.

Traverse City (27-38) scored all of its runs in the first three innings.

Brad Roblin had a two-run single and Zack Kalter drew a bases-loaded walk in a three-run second inning. Aaron Garza drilled his third home run in the third to account for the Bums other run.

Evansville scored three times in the top of the second. Reynolds RBI single.

The Otters got solo home runs from Daniel Burton in the third inning and Mike Spry in the sixth and rounded out the scoring with one in the seventh.

Mark Murray (2-2) got the win in relief of starter Michael Greenhouse while Jared Trout allowed just one hit in 2&2/3 innings to pick up his first save.

Evansville spoiled the Bums' debut of Tom Thornton. Steve Young and Garza were the only TC players with more than one hit.
