Blazers top St. Francis

Kaitlyn Flohe poured in 21 points Tuesday to lead Kalkaska past Traverse City St. Francis, 58-51.
Katie Krause added 12 points, six rebounds and six steals for the Blazers (4-0, 2-0 Lake Michigan Conference).
Marissa Taylor collected 10 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals while Kara Ponstein chipped in with nine points on three triples.
St. Francis was led by Maggie Olson with 17 points.
St. Francis won the JV contest, 46-32.
TC West 44
Gaylord 28
Traverse City West topped Gaylord, 44-28.
The Titans (1-4, 1-0 Big North Conference) were led by Jessica Oakley with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Sierra Breithaupt added 12 points and blocked three shots.
Erica Olson chipped in with five points and three assists while Molly Montgomery contributed five assists.
Vanessa Lake scored 10 points to lead Gaylord.
Gaylord won the JV game, 36-28.
Melissa Wilsens paced West with nine points.

Traverse City Central rolled past Petoskey, 51-25.
Dori Lansbach netted 15 points for Central (3-2, 2-0 Big North Conference) while Lynden Baesch and Emily Kring scored eight each.
Petoskey was led by Tori Premo with eight points.
Central will play host to Ann Arbor Huron on Friday with the JV game starting at 3:30.
Central won the JV game, 55-40.
Jen Pomante scored 14 points and Meredith Aja had 10.
Petoskey took the freshman game, 45-23.

Maria Blazejewski scored 18 points and Jolene Jeske added 11 to lead Benzie Central to a 43-34 non-conference win over Chippewa Hills.
Blazejewski, a 5-foot-11 sophomore, was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and also had 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots. Jeske added 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks.
The Huskies, who will carry a 4-1 record into Saturday's home game against Alpena, led at the quarter breaks 10-3, 21-9 and 35-17.

Nicole Marshall had 16 points as Frankfort (4-0) opened Northwest Conference play with a 54-12 victory over Suttons Bay (2-2).
Kelly Tousley added 11 points for Frankfort.

Susie Holbrook poured in 28 points and had eight steals for the Bulldogs (5-0).

Mitchell Wieringa scored first for the Sabres (7-1) with an assist from Jason Stand.
Matt Yeiter sealed the win on a penalty kick.
Eric Pardini had the shutout in net to drop Northport to 6-2 and 3-1 in the Cherryland Conference

Brian Grost netted four goals for the Trojans (5-1, 2-1 Big North).

Elk Rapids handed Cheboygan its first loss of the season, 2-1.
Ian Slinger and Garrett Gribi each scored for the Elks (6-3). Adam Benak assisted on both goals.

Ben Darling scored on a scramble in front of the net with two seconds left in the first half as Suttons Bay beat Leland 1-0 in a Cherryland Conference match.

St. Francis notches 9-stroke LMC victory
Andrew Walukonis and Mike Dendrinos both shot in the 30s to lead Traverse City St. Francis to victory in Tuesday's Lake Michigan Conference match on the Sundance course at A-Ga-Ming.
The Gladiators carded a 153 to defeat Charlevoix by nine strokes. They were followed by Harbor Springs (168), Kalkaska (175), Grayling (189), Boyne City (199) and East Jordan (204).
Pacing St. Francis were Walukonis (35), Dendrinos (37), Tony Casciano (40), Blane Casciano (41), Tim Brick (43) and Chris Dendrinos (45).
Kris Bartling and Nic Williams both shot 38 to lead Charlevoix.
Tyler Parkin's 37 topped Harbor.
St. Francis also won the junior varsity match with a 175, followed by Harbor Springs (193), Charlevoix (196), Grayling (198), East Jordan (241) and Boyne City (244).
Leading the Gladiators were Andrew Zelinski (43), Adam Rochford (43), Cam McCardel (44), Matt Dressler (45), Keadon Hornyak (47) and Josh Perrault (61).
Norsemen prevail in Northwest Jamboree
Suttons Bay won a Northwest Conference jamboree hosted by Glen Lake at Sleeping Bear Golf Club.
Nate Kelly was the medalist with a 37 for Kingsley.
Josh Schaub and Chris Wanroy each carded a 40 for the Norse.
Kingsley was second with a 173, led by Miles Guy with 38.
Dan Casselman led Mesick (197) with a 42. Mitch Norman carded a 44 for Manton (217). Dusty Popa led Glen Lake (224) with a 46, and Jack Wildand paced Frankfort (226) with a 46.

Benzie Central had the first five finishers and posted a perfect score of 15 against TC Central Black.
Alex Roth led the way for the Huskies in 17:19, followed by Jason Gray (17:32), Scott McKeel (17:33), Miles Hunsinger (17:47) and A.J. Patterson (17:52).
Aaron Trippe was sixth (18:14) for Central Black. Brian Tiefenbach was ninth (18:40), Mark Alanson 13th (19:27), Dalton DeMoulpied 14th (19:33) and Troy Schultz 15th (19:42).
Lake City, Pine River win jamboree
Lake City captured the boys race and Pine River the girls in the Greater Northwest Conference cross country jamboree at McBain.
Lake City won the boys race with 51 points. Pine River's Alex Vanias was the overall winner in 17:28.
The race also counted as a Northwest Conference race with Glen Lake's John Lee the top finisher.
Suttons Bay had three runners in the boys race Tom Pritz was 19th in 19:58, Sam Faught 54th in 23:19 and Nathan Blue 59th in 23:44.
Pine River won the girls race with 20 points. Glen Lake's Marissa Treece was the overall winner in 18:41.
Suttons Bay came in fifth with a 132 points. Leading the Norse were Elizabeth Adams (10th in 23:22), Lizzy Freed (15th in 24:37), Cassandra Buffum (27th in 25:35), Rachael Farrell (41st in 26:44) and Jordan Callewaert (53rd in 28:54).
