West rips Rochester

ROCHESTER Casey Townsend and Drew Nichols scored 2 goals apiece Monday as Traverse City West defeated Rochester 5-2 in a non-conference soccer match.
Dan Kellogg also scored for the Titans (5-1-2). Townsend had 2 assists in the game while Kellogg and Sam Coughonour had one.
Jon Nowak registered 9 saves in goal. The Titans received strong midfield play from Kace Lovejoy and Evan Perry.
West, which lost the JV game 1-0, is at Mason on Saturday.
TC Christian 5
Glen Lake 0
Matt Beemer had a goal and 2 assists and Matt Moll scored 2 goals as Traverse City Christian remained undefeated in Cherryland Conference action with a 5-0 win over Glen Lake.
Eric Hofstra added a goal and an assist and Brian Wierenga had a goal.
Eric Pardini was in goal, and Mike Rudolph led the defense.
Christian (6-1, 5-0) travels to Northport today for a key league match.
Leland 3
Benzie Central 1
Three different players scored goals as Leland topped Benzie Central 3-1.
Jordan Gibson, Brian Zaryczny and Adam Osiecki notched goals, and Chris Burda and Eric Larsen had assists for the Comets (7-2, 1-2 Cherryland).
Tyler Kenney made 6 saves, and was aided by the defense of Ryan Korson.
Adam Worden was credited with Benzie's goal that tied the game with 7 minutes left in the first half.
Leland travels to Suttons Bay today.
Forest Area 4
Clare 2
Justin Cecil scored 2 goals as Forest Area moved back to the .500 mark with a 4-2 win over Clare.
The Warriors (4-4-1) also received a goal and assist from Greg Kinney, 2 assists from Tyler Lane, a goal from Brandon Rookus and an assist by Zach Roys.
Max Galea made 10 saves in goal and Dennis Brown led the defense.
Bellaire 2
McBain NMC 1
Taylor Swartz scored off an Anthony Garwood assist less than three minutes into overtime to lift Bellaire to a 2-1 victory over McBain Northern Michigan Christian.
With 25:23 left in the regulation, Swartz crossed the ball over to the center of the field about 15 yards out from the goal. Russell Rodriguez beat the Comet goalkeeper to the ball by a fraction of a second and slipped the ball in the goal while colliding and flipping over the keeper.
McBain scored its goal as the buzzer sounded to end the first half.
Bellaire goalkeeper Brett Mosher had 5 saves, as the Eagle out shot the Comets 24-10. The win improved the Eagles record to 5-2.
The Eagles host Northern Michigan Soccer League leader Roscommon on Wednesday.
Charlevoix 5
East Jordan 2
Colin Campbell scored a hat trick as Charlevoix posted its first win of the season over East Jordan, 5-2.
Alex Buday and Josh Godfrey added goals for the Rayders (1-5).
Both of East Jordan's goals were scored on penalty kicks from the mark, one each from Josh Force and Jeff Keyser.
East Jordan goalkeeper David Waterson made 22 saves, while sophomore Collin McDonough was in net for Charlevoix.
TC Bulldogs 63
Buckley 25
Susie Holbrook scored 22 points and Ellisha Crosby added a triple-double as the Traverse City Bulldogs home-school basketball team beat Buckley 63-25.
Crosby had 17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks, 8 steals and 7 assists in the win. Katie Towersey chipped in 10 points. Holbrook also had 5 assists for the 4-0 Bulldogs.
TC St. Francis frosh 27
Benzie Central frosh 25
Emily Buckel scored 12 points to lead the Traverse City St. Francis freshman team (3-0) to a 27-25 victory over Benzie Central.
Tauney Kosiboski led the Huskies (1-1) with 9 points.
