Land deserves second term

When Secretary of State TERRI LYNN LAND ran for office in 2002 she promised to improve services and branch offices.

Traverse City-area voters only have to stop by the expanded branch office on Woodmere Avenue to see proof she's on her way to fulfilling that promise.

In a job where service and efficiency are everything, Land has gotten things done. There are now 24-hour self-serve kiosks for license-plate stickers and Internet service has been upgraded.

If Land wasn't running, her challenger, Democrat Carmella Sabaugh, would be a fine choice. The Macomb County clerk has a record of accomplishment and has won respect on both sides of the political fence.

But Land has delivered and earned re-election.

ayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Williams simply isn't up to the job.
