Free drinking water screenings offered

TRAVERSE CITY — The Michigan Groundwater Stewardship program on July 17 will provide free screening of samples from private drinking water wells.

Participants can pick up a sample bottle and sampling directions from their local Michigan State University Extension office. Samples must be taken on July 17 and returned to the extension office the same day. Testing will screen for nitrates, nitrites and triazine pesticides.
