DNR workshop for 'outdoorswomen'

      HIGGINS LAKE - A state workshop to create "outdoorswomen" will teach a laundry list of winter skills at Higgins Lake.
      The Michigan Department of Natural Resources offers a workshop for women 18 and older Feb. 24-26 at the agency's MacMullan Conference Center at Higgins Lake.
      Activities will include ice fishing, showshoeing, cross-country skiing, dogsledding, snowmobile safety, winter survival and a chance for winter rafting on the Sturgeon River. There will also be classes in archery, basket weaving, nest box building and cast iron cooking.
