Snowmobile clubs plan fundraiser

ALBA — Regional snowmobile clubs will host a fundraiser dinner tonight to cover the costs of new emergency locator signs being installed this winter along area snowmobile trails.

The spaghetti dinner runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Antrim County Snowmobile Club headquarters in Alba. There is no set price, but the club is accepting donations and hopes to raise about $1,000, said Antrim Sheriff Terry Johnson.

The money will be used to pay for about 100 GPS locator signs that are to be posted in the coming weeks along trails in Antrim and Charlevoix counties. The signs will help emergency responders locate riders faster in an emergency.
