September 17, 2005Benefit run to help injured detectiveFROM STAFF REPORTSTRAVERSE CITY - A benefit 5K run will be held to help with expenses for a Grand Traverse County sheriff's detective critically injured in a motorcycle accident in North Carolina. Patrick Erway, 31, remains hospitalized in Asheville, N.C., after a motorcycle accident on Sept. 6. Registration for the benefit "fun" run/walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the rear parking lot of the state office building, 701 S. Elmwood in Traverse City. The cost to enter the event is $20 per person. All proceeds will go to the Erway family. For information, call 922-5215 or 929-0180.
