October 15, 2005Septage plant collapse explanation comingFROM STAFF REPORTSTRAVERSE CITY - It took four months, but public officials - and the public - finally will find out why a tank burst in June at Grand Traverse County's new septage plant. NTH Consultants, an independent engineering firm hired by the county, will present its interim report to the sewer and water committee at a 2 p.m. meeting Tuesday. The meeting will be held at the Garfield Township Hall, and copies of the report will be made available to the public after the meeting. The report is expected to describe why the tank collapsed and provide major findings on the design and construction of other buildings at the facility.
