Residents can view TC waterfront ideas

TRAVERSE CITY - Residents can review design ideas for Traverse City's waterfront drafted by Michigan State University students.
The university's Small Town Design Initiative worked with the city and residents for months to develop six conceptual designs for the city's 12,000 feet of bayfront.
The city wants to narrow the ideas and come up with one "master" design in March that has support from citizens.
Residents can view the six ideas developed by students at the following locations:
      - Through Dec. 26 at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave.
      - Dec. 27 to Jan. 15 at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front St.
      - Jan. 16 to Jan. 19 at the Great Lakes Campus of Northwestern Michigan College, 715 E. Front St.
Drawings also can be viewed on the city's Web site at www.ci.traverse-city.mi.us. A 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 19 meeting is planned at the Great Lakes Campus to discuss the designs.
