LOW, 86, of Traverse City, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 3, 2002, at The Arbor House Assisted Living of Traverse City.Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City. TRAVERSE CITY - Muriel W. Cicotte, 91, of Traverse City, died Wednesday morning at her home. Muriel was born Nov. 16, 1910, in British Columbia, the daughter of Burton Bliss and Amy Jane (Smith) Smith. On April 11, 1931, she married Edmond N. Cicotte in Trenton. For 28 years, following her husband's retirement, the couple lived at their home at Big Blue Lake near Kalkaska. In 1996, they moved to their home in Traverse City. Muriel was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain her family and friends with her tantalizing cuisine. She was also a beautiful quilter. Survivors include her children, Edmond B. (Elizabeth) Cicotte of Shelby Township; Jil G. Rose of Kalkaska; her grandchildren, Guy Rose, Lisa Cicotte, David (Cheryl) Rose, Cheryl (James) Badami and Colin Cicotte; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; her sister, Barbara McMillan of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was preceded in death her husband, Edmond; a grandson, Thomas Rose; her parents, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. David Gabel officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and continue until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice. TRAVERSE CITY - Richard Elvin Dietz, 57, of Traverse City, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002. He was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Sault Ste. Marie to Elvin William and Margaret Mary (White) Dietz. He wed Donna J. Heimforth on Aug. 14, 1992, in Traverse City. Richard was employed as a marine mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all golfing. He was a member of the Kingsley Gun Club. Richard loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Donna Dietz of Traverse City; his son, Randy (Teresa) Dietz of Flint, and his stepsons, Donald (Melissa) Weathers of Las Vegas, Aaron (Harmony) Weathers of Traverse City and Jeff (Kelly) Heimforth of Traverse City; seven grandchildren, Jon, Josh, Jake, Jared, Abby, Ashli and Kayla; brothers, Donald (Lorraine) Dietz of Alpena, Dan (Lenore) Dietz of Alpena and David (Ellen) Dietz of Kentwood; sisters, Diane (Ron) Scott of Alpena and Nancy (Gene) LeFleshe of Alpena; and his father, Elvin "Sonny" (Linda) Dietz of Sault Ste. Marie. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Dietz; and his son, Ricky Dietz. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at Central United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tamara Williams officiating. TRAVERSE CITY - Bill Hambrecht, 61, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, following a short illness. He was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Dexter, Maine, to Gordon and Antoinette (Poulin) Hambrecht. Bill worked at Fayscott-Landis in Dexter, Maine as a machinist, and then moved to Stratford, Conn., to work for Pratt & Whitney. He returned to Dexter, Maine, and opened his own business, Tiny's Pizzeria for a few years. Later, he worked for Flame Tech in Middleton, Mass., before relocating to Traverse City. Here he worked for Century Specialists until his retirement. He enjoyed working on cars, cooking, swimming and being with all of his friends. He always spoke fondly of Blimpies and the friends that he had made there. He also held a special place in his heart for his friends Keith and the late Tiny Gudroe from Dexter, Maine. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his daughter, Shannon Hambrecht of Traverse City; two sisters, Kay (Douglas) Larson of Saugas, Mass., and Elaina (Bill) Johnson of Colebrook, N.H.; his two brothers, Peter (Laurel) Hambrecht of Arlington, Texas, and Philip (Nancy) Hambrecht of Palm Coast, Fla.; his stepdaughter, Barbara Pearce, and two stepsons, Michael and Ted O'Rourke; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Hambrecht Dripkin. Services will be held at a later date in his hometown of Dexter, Maine. Memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Home Healthcare. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. |
