VERA L. SHUTRAN, 84, of Alden, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Helena Township Cemetery in Alden. Arrangements are being handled by Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc.
      Karen S. Frizzle
      Died April 25, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Karen S. Frizzle, 38, of Traverse City and formerly of Port Huron, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Born May 19, 1961, in Port Huron, she moved to Traverse City in 1998. On Sept. 17, 1984, in Port Huron, she married Wesley Frizzle.
      Karen owned a home day care business and was a school volunteer.
      She is survived by her husband, Wesley; two children, Charles Frizzle and Rachel Frizzle; two stepchildren, Jeffery (Amy) Frizzle and Jennifer Frizzle; two grandchildren, Alexis and Logan; her parents, Charles and Bonnie Warren of Florida; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Vivian Frizzle of Marysville; two brothers, Douglas Warren and Brian (Marie) Warren - all of Port Huron; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
      Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home in Port Huron. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hillside Wesleyan Church with Rev. Stephen C. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fort Gratiot Township.
      Memorials may be made to the children's educational fund in care of Wesley Frizzle.
      Mary Lee Keillor
      Died April 19, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Mary Lee Keillor, 76, former longtime resident of Hillsdale and winter resident of Ft. Myers, Fla. and summer resident of Traverse City, died Wednesday, April 19, in Ft. Myers. Fla.
      Mary was born March 30, 1924, in Homer to Richard and Louise Osborn. She graduated from Homer High School and was drum majorette of the high school band, and a charter member of Camp Fire where she spent many wonderful years. Her chosen Indian name was Kee-Koo-Wa.
      Mary worked as a telephone operator, church secretary, receptionist at Hillsdale High School and a homemaker. She was also a Camp Fire leader for many years. Mary was a lifelong member of The Presbyterian Church and had served as a Deacon, was a member and past president of The Ladies Golf Association of Hillsdale Golf and Country Club, a charter member of The Myerlee Country Club where she had six holes-in-one. She was also a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ft. Myers, Fla. and was a member of The Women's Golf League. Along with her husband and son, she was co-owner of The Crystal Lake Golf Club in Beulah. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Scotland, Germany, Austria and Canada.
      She is survived by her husband, Arthur M. Keillor, whom she married on Dec. 27, 1944, in Battle Creek; two children, Susan Keillor of Lake Ann and Bruce Keillor of Beulah; grandchildren, Justin, Aaron and Kathryn Keillor of Beulah; nieces and nephews, Nancy (Leonard) Ludwa of Bellaire, William Leonard of Kalamazoo, Ken Keillor of Grand Rapids, Scott Keillor of Ann Arbor, Kathy O'Keefe of Grand Ledge, Jamie Keillor of Brighton and Chris Keillor of Redondo Beach, Calif. She is also survived by a cousin, James Court of Apopka, Fla. and also Kathy Keillor of Beulah.
      She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Leonard.
      Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen J. Davidson officiating. Burial will take place at the Benzonia Township Cemetery in Benzonia.
      The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House or The Alzheimer's Resource Center, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
      Ruth Tremain
      Died April 21, 2000
      MIDLAND - Ruth Tremain, 81, of Midland and formerly of Detroit and Tryon, NC, died Friday in Midland.
      Born July 10, 1918, in Highland Park, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Hazzard) Anderson. She was a graduate of Highland Park School and in 1942 was married to Harold L. Tremain, M.D., who preceded her in death in December of 1989.
      Ruth was raised in Detroit, moved to Tryon in 1974 and then to Midland in 1999. Ruth was active in the Presbyterian Church, served as a community volunteer and loved culture, the arts, and gardening.
      She is survived by her children, Robert Tremain of Detroit and her daughter Margaret Davis and her husband Norman of Midland; two grandchildren, Eric A. Davis and Jennifer A. Davis - both of Midland; and a brother, James N. Anderson and his wife, Shirley, of Vermont.
      Private memorial services will take place at a later date in Kingsley.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street, Midland.
